In Arkansas, we have more than 34,000 children with mental or behavioral health issues that don’t respond to outpatient counseling. We have almost 15,000 adults in the same boat. These folks need more support and services made available to them.

Arkansas legislators are planning to address this issue in the upcoming 2023 session. They hope to increase the availability of mental and behavioral health services for folks of all ages and incomes.

We see this need often among our own disability clients. They desperately need help with their mental health, and sometimes it is simply not available.

Let’s keep an eye on what is happening with this. Please let us know if you learn of updates.
