Starting January 1, 2023, folks with Medicare Part D will have access to the Shingles shot at no cost. Until now, there has been a co-pay for most people.

If you don’t have Medicare Part D, the price of the shingles vaccine will depend on your healthcare plan, which shot you are getting, and who is administering the shot.

For more info, see this article on 5 News Online: Shingles shot will be free for people with Medicare Part D starting January 2023.

According to the CDC, 1 out of every 3 adults will develop shingles in their lifetime.

Talk to your doctor to see if you are at risk of developing shingles and whether you should take any action to avoid getting it.
